I don't know how many of you know this, but smart did design a four seater car in 2001. It was called the Tridion4 and was the forerunner of the forfour.

Being the boring person I am, I've constructed a montage of the Tridion4 vs the forfour, and I find it quite extraordinary what actually made it from the concept to the car!

As you can see, even the wheels made it into the forfour's design, the tridion is almost exactly the same bar a few angles here and there.
